Adding a Personal Weather System to your B-hyve app:
In the B-hyve app, you are able to use smart watering which can help control the amount of water you use by creating automatic watering programs based on your lawn and the local weather. By default, the B-hyve app will connect to the nearest station that is recognized by Aeris, which is the weather system that our app uses.
It is possible to add your own weather system to the app and use it, but there are a few steps you will need to try depending on the weather service you use.
The Aeris gets PWS weather data from the PWSWeather.com servers or through the CWOP program. In order for your weather system recognized in the B-hyve you would need to have that station report their data to the PWS server.
Affter going through this process it may take some to time to show up within the B-hyve, but once you get your CWOP ID it should appear there. After setting up the weather system, if your personal weather system stops reporting at any point, Aeris and PWSWeather.com will remove it from the list and it won’t be able to be used.
B-hyve can use data from personal weather stations that are able to report to https://www.pwsweather.com/. They have an excellent FAQsection that lists compatible programs and a few compatible devices.
As devices, manufacturers, and program requirements change, we can’t recommend a particular weather station that is best for use with pwsweather. When shopping around, look out for devices that advertise compatibility with pwsweather. If you like a particular program or piece of software that is compatible with pwsweather, the software may also list weather stations that it is compatible with.
